Hey pple! .......................................................{long pause}........i actually dunno why im blogging....i have nothing really to say. Today was a semi-boring..but not real boring day. I slept til about 9:30am...then i woke up and played the Sims...dats mah game!! lol. I left for a swim meet at like 12:45pm. It was okay. It was our relay meet. I like relays...so that was good...but there were lotsa skools there and it was long and crowded. The water was freezing!! I just had 2 swim 3 things, so i was happy...i did a 50fly in the 200 mixed fly relay, a 50 fly in the 200 girls fly relay, then a 150free in the progressive free relay. It was pretty good. I improved all my times, but i kno i coulda done better on the fly. The first one just sucked...i won't go into detail...but it sucked. The second one was slightly better, though i found like 3 things i need 2 fix...but it was okay. I was very happy w/ my 150free relay. I love distance free....i love the 500 and the 200.....dangit...but coach hardly puts me in them, even when i always do good and usually place in like 2nd. grrr....o well. The meet went over much longer than expected...til 7pm.. So yeah...dat wuz mah day. :)
Now to get onto somethin thats been buggin me lately: college. Its mah junior year of high school, so its bout time i start thinking about it. Finding a good college actually has become sort of a hobby for me. But all sorts of things are pissing me off about the college stuff. okay...so its not really pissing me off...its more like stressing me out. Like one thing...this is my junior year...the year colleges look at the most...why is it THIS YEAR that my grades are slipping?? I got my first "C" on my report card...and im no doubt getting at least one more on this next report card...unless i do some drastic changing real fast. Then...im taking the January SAT test...i wish i hadnt registered for it now....i know im not ready. It was a waste to pay for it. Then, my PSAT scores....aaahhh! They keep dropping! Freshman year...i got an 1100 on my PSAT...not bad. Last year, i got a 1050..a bit of a drop. Then this year....i got a 1040! another drop! and this is after i'd taken some SAT prep classes!!! im just hoping this January SAT wont follow that same trend. I actually REALLY want a 1300 on the SAT. but i dunno....thats more like a dream. If i got a 1300...id stop taking the test...that is a VERY satisfying score to me. But i doubt id get that...or even close to that. I mean...Alanna took the SAT, and last time she got like a 12-somethin...like a 1220 or 1240 or somethin....and shes been practicing for it since the 7th grade!! Ive done nothing!! And may i add shes ALOT smarter than me...especially in math...my math score always sux.
Then the college search blows me. Almost all the ones i like are private and too expensive!! Like...for example...the top 4 schools i was looking at right now:
1. George Washington University (D.C)...is about $39,000!!! thats almost 40,000!! (NOTE: THE FOLLOWING COSTS ARE FROM COLLEGEBOARD.COM...AND ARE FOR TUITION, ROOM, BOARD, BOOKS, ESTIMATED PERSONAL EXPENSES, ETC.) im like....WHY??? GW sounded SOOOO perfect...its got my major...lots of stuff to do....its urban (a plus for me)...ive heard good things about it...its fairly diverse (i dont wanna go to an all-white skool....dats scary..lol)...and its in DC!! i love DC...and it wouldnt be hard to get to my house...just take the metro! :) Only thing...it sounds pretty competetive. But ima still try i think. But the price...im like...wow.
2. Ithaca College (NY)...this costs about $32,000. It sounds good...its got a whole school for my major. Theres about 8,000 students so its to me a nice size...i wanna go to s skool thats got more pple than my high skool (aka- more than 3,000 students) but not so big that id be just another no-name face (around 10,000 is sort of my max....sort of...i dunno...) Then, it sounds like a nice location and all...plus its away from Maryland..i sorta wanna get away. but for $32,000....i dunno. Plus its not as diverse as i'd like ti to be. Thats sort of something i consider...its not the most important thing to me...but...yeah....like i said b4..i like diversity. What can i say...ive gotten very used to my high school scene. :)
3. Marist College (NY)...costs about $28,000. This is one of the cheaper ones i liked...if u consider $28,000 cheap...which to me its still very expensive and SO outa my budget. But it is sorta like Ithaca...has a school for communications (yeah buddy!)....its suberban. I want to go to an urban or suberban campus...im not feelin the country. But this place only has like 4,000 people. Which...is okay...id get attention and i like that. I like knowing my teachers and joking w/ them. I just hope i dont get lonley. lol.
4. Drexel University (PA)....costs about $32,000...again...another big spender. Ive heard good things about Drexel. The brochures sound good and the website made it seem cool. Again..an urban school (nice) with a pretty good number of students (about 10,000). It has my major and it seems like a good school.
Mayn...i was talking to Gonzo online the other night and at the end of our IM conversation we was talking about college and stuff. He was like...mayn...Megan's a high roller! lol Notice all 4 of these schools are private....WHY???? Private= more $$ for me 2 spend! boo.... tho i also heard most private schools give more grants and aid than public schools cause they often have more money. That can help me....i need a scholarship!! lol o well. ima go around online now. im sick of typing. ttyl pple. :)

hey all!! Its FRIDAY!!
The first 2 days back in school were actually pretty good. Yesterday was a bit entertaining. Went to swim practice..it was pretty easy. then comes the First surprise: We come to school and see ::surprise:: out gym has a structure. (for ya'll who dunno; our gym was condemnded last year. This year when we came back from summer break, we found it was torn down. and they have started construction on it recently). ok, ok...so this "structure" is just some metal beams that look that they may sometime hold up a roof...its progress. Actually, im highly impressed....ya can't expect much from our sucky PG county skool system. Speaking of which; a funny thing happened while i was going to 8th period. Some girl opened her locker and found a mouse in it...chaos!! She started screaming and slammed her locker shut..and her friends around her was screaming...then the whole hallway was all...what is it?? good thing it wasnt a packed hallway...the bell had just rung...otherwise their would have been a trampling lol.
So thursday was good...up until Adkins: actually it wasnt that bad: GREAT NEWS...he pushed his test back til monday!!! SO RELIEVED!!! also his lecture was pretty entertaining..tho i was busy watching the construction people move some beams for the gym w/ a crane....ya got a perfect view from Adkin's window..lol.
ok...here was the bad part of the day...Adkins reminded us that our 2nd quarter project was due in less than 3 weeks (the 21st.) And heres my dilemma: we had less than 3 weeks to make a video and a revised outline. And we are changing our topic from Marbury v. Madison to something else. So we dont have an outline. Then, group issues. our group was just me, steph and choi (mei). But then, sarah wanted us to merge w/ her Amanda and Iris....then Craig was looking for a group and wanted to be in ours...bu the max. number of pple u can have in a group is 6. Me, Steph and Choi met at my house after skool yesterday to decide. We decided that Craig could be in our group and we wouldnt merge w/ the other group...too much of a switch. Then we came up w/ a new topic: Dartmouth v. Woodward. Finally, we did a real short and ruff outline. which leads to today....
After an a-o.k. day of skool; craig, choi, steph and me met again for our project. This time we gave roles for the video...im Daniel Webster!! yay! We made an outline then divided it up for scripts. We plan on meeting Wednesday and we all are planning on having scripts wrote out by then. Im strangly no longer worried about our video project...i went from being like...OMG-how-will-we-get-it-done...-we're-gonna-fail; to not caring really...thats nice. :)
So...yup...now im just hanging around...talking 2 gonzo about stuff...hes making a blog...nice. just talking about that and swim stuff...he bought new goggles that dont fog up..what a loser! lol j/k (i kno ur probably reading this thomas...lol...and if ur not...(sniff, sniff)...im hurt cause no1 reads my blog...lol.) yup. oh! i got some college mail today! It came in a pretty shiney aluminum-type envelope. Its from GW (aka George Washington University). Gosh... i was looking into that school....it sounds sooo good! And id love 2 go 2 school in D.C....i love DC!! But the tuition and room and all is SO FREAKING EXPENSIVE and it sounds sorta hard to get into....WHY!!???? i guess i gotta keep my search going....i need a freakin scholarship....

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! ITS '03 BAYBEE!! lol. A new year..hmm...maybe i should make some new year's resolutions. i usually break them all..but heres a few ill try this year:
NEW YEARS RESOLUTIONS
1. Study harder (riiite...this is already broken lol)
2. Bring up my precal grade.
3. Make it to the "Promised Land" in Adkins lol (just once....please..lol)
4. Not eat so much junk food (ill try, but cookies are hard to break lol)
5. Be more involved in my after school activities.
6. Improve my swim times for swim team.
7. Have a list of colleges to apply to and apply to them when i need to.
8. Stop procrastinating (haha....thats a good one).
9. Hang out w/ friends more (i never go to the movies!! lol.)
10. Be nicer to my brother. (trust me...i try every year..)
11. Go to driving school.
12. Get my provisionals when i can.
13. Throw at least one good party (i never throw parties...thats what high schools all about, rite? lol)
14. Not blame everything on my brother.
15. Not get mad when i lose in Monopoly. (i NEVER land on free parking!!!)
16. Keep excersising even when swim team is over (gotta stay healthy :) )
17. Manage my time better
18. Figure out how to make good videos w/ my NEW DIGITAL VIDEO CAMERA!! (sorry...im bragging...couldnt keep that in. lol)
19. Stop complaining (i kno lotsa pple have it worse than i do...but i cant help it..i complain about stupid stuff..)
20. Stop saying "im tired" (my favorite quote..lol...)
21. Make my blog more interesting and funny (ill check up w/ Greg C. for tips lol)
22. Update my blog more often (at the very least once a week...prefferably about every other day.)
23. Learn to cook better (big whoop...i can make cookies...i wanna learn how to make a meal...but without meat...i HATE seeing raw meat..)
24. Get a job (definatly (sp?) a summer job, maybe even one during the school year)
25. Stop being so cheap (i need to face the fact that a $10 short-sleeved shirt is a bargain these days...)
26. Save my money (put some in the bank....for a car, college, etc.)
27. Spend more time w/ my family (i feel bad when my dad asks what i wanna do on the weekends, and i just wanna sit in front of the computer...)
28. Read more books (Lindsay had me hooked on Fearless for awhile...im on a different book now...its good but i just never feel like reading!)
29. Keep being social
30. Improve my memory (Hope...uh...whats my locker combination?)
31. Get 4.0's or higher the rest of the school year. (i kno...im dreaming...)
32. Stop being obsessed w/ the Sims (they are sooooooo lifelike!! lol)
33. Stop getting stressed out (i dont see how Iyen does it...i dont do half as much as she does...and i still have like no time to myself!)
34. Stop thinking of some of my classes as b.s. classes (aka Geology, Architectural Drafting, SAT Prep...i really need to do good in those...)
35. Learn to walk in heels (i hate dressing up....)
36. Get a hobby (lol)
37. Get a life (sike naw...j/k)

38. Don't be bored (i need to have things to do)

Hey all!! Happy New Year!! Well..not yet..but in a few hours or so...lol.
Mayn...today was fun. First, woke up at 6:30am for swim team practice...it was easy tho, and we got to play water polo again!! :) My team was good...we won 3-1! My team was me, Greg, Craig, Hope, Punam, and Karen. It was great! I think i did good...i got the ball alot. I played defense and was always trying to block Ian and Scott, and sometimes Robin. Man!...they are hard tho! And Ian kept pushing me and splashing me...then he tried to drown me!!! I was in front of him in the deep end blocking him by my teams goal...and he goes and shoves me underwater and holds me under!!! And i didn't even have the ball then!!! lol. o well, he got put in the "penalty box" for that (haha!) lol. It was great tho...i luv water polo!
After practice i was rushing and making cookies for Jonathans party starting at noon. The party was fun! it was me, Choi (Mei), Steph, Hope, Jonathan and McClain. It was great. We watched the Goonies, Spiderman and Austin Powers: Goldmember; and we played Simpsons: Monopoly. It was fun. But i did bad in monopoly...Steph and Choi formed an alliance and had like everything. Me and McClain formed one to survive...but we both were pretty broke..lol. o well. it was fun. And so much good food! chicken...subs...chips...Hope made pie...i made cookies...chocolate covered cherries...mayn...my stomach hurts. lol. Im glad- everyone seemed to like my cookies..well...except McClain. lol. She tried one then asked what was in it...one thing was peanut butter...darnit...McClains allergic to peanut butter. lol. oops. my bad. lol. o well...next time ill make chocolate. it was fun. Anyways...yup thats my day...left the party at a little after 6pm. Went on the Sims....luv that game. :) Now im online...surfing the net. Darn...Lindsay didnt update her blog...boo...but Greg did his! wow...deep stuff, mayn. lol. his is funny. ima sign his g-book..brb!

Hey all! Been awhile since i blogged...lotsa cool stuff 2 talk about tho...
Ill start w/ Christmas: Christmas was nice. On Christmas Eve during the day, we went w/ my grandparents around D.C. They wanted to go to the Botanical Gardens...that was ok. Then we went and saw the Christmas tree in front of the Capital and the national tree...from a distance (post-9/11 road blocks are a bummer). Then we went to Union Station for lunch and walked around looking at the overpriced merchandise.
Then on Christmas Day: 1st i opened presents (of course). got some great things: a digital video camera (so small and cool!!), a few clothes, a little money, a new cell phone (this one shows the time!!! lol! it also has text messaging, games, etc..yeah!), cds (Justin Timberlake and Kelly Rowland...both are great), and some other little random stuff. Then my grandparents came over for dinner (mom made cheesecake!!! YUM!) next to talk about...
Swim practices: I went to all these ones...we played water polo twice!!! it was so fun!! I LOVE WATER POLO! we need a water polo team...id be the 1st to join.... anyways...next up...
FRIDAY: good day! Me, Steph, Hope and Sharis went to the mall and movies. We saw "Drumline." Good movie..i liked it. It was funny and had good music. Then after the movie we hit up a chinese food stand at the food court then checked out the mall...Funcoland...Claires...etc. it was fun...then me, steph and hope went to swim practice....played water polo half the time...(see my commets about that above.lol) fun.
SATURDAY: went 2 Virginia w/ the family to see grandparents. There was a little snow so i sled and tried out my brothers new snowboard..its fun...though i dont really like how ur feet are tied together and u always fall on ur @ss or ur stomach. but i guess ur supposed to try and stay up...lol Then, we went to this snow tubing park...great fun! Theres like this big hill....then at the end it curves up into a steep smaller hill...then theres this wall. If u haven't stopped on that incline, you hit the wall...believe me it hurts! i hit it everytime..the last ride was horrible...i hit this big bump...then hit another one near the top of the hill. The second bump sent me in the air and i slammed into the wall REAL hard on my left side...then i fell down and hit the ground...PAIN!!! but it was fun...and there was this cute guy working the bottom of the lift (i kno, i kno...girlie moment lol). Now on to
SUNDAY: Went to work at my dad's friend's place...did inventory. It was a bit boring...but for $10/hr i couldnt refuse...earned $100 in one day!! Thats like...half of my year's income! lol...i need a real job. :)
TODAY: boring...i got down to Physics homework...ugh..its hard...im almost done tho. lets just hope i get at least half of them right. :) Walked to Lindsay's to give her her Physics homework. Talked briefly...sounds like she had a nice break. Her house is all decorated for the holidays...looks nice. :) And thats what i did today...yup..and now i am talking to my friend's friend who lives in S.C. that i never met before but i talked 2 b4 online. Had good conversation w/ him for like an hour or so...but he just had to go..darn..o well..thats all...peace out :)
