This weekend is a time for work....lots of work...

This morning, i woke up early for the SATs. Took it at my school, OHHS. It was raining like mad this morning! But..yeah...when i got there, all the test-taking pple were put in the cafeteria, where we'd wait til it was time to move to classrooms to do the test. It was cool...saw lotsa my friends and stuff and we all were talking and joking around and singing stupid songs and stuff...funny. There were also alot of pple there, obviously from different schools, that were taking the test. It was a little weird...seeing so many pple i didnt recognize. I mean...our school is so crowded...theres lotsa pple who do go to my school that i don't know...but still...it was easy to see who didn't usually come here. But it was cool...like a little reunion...so needless to say, i was very hyper, even though it was very early on a saturday.

NEwayz...we were dismissed to other rooms (all students were told directions, which took us to the 3rd floor to the english hallway...non Oxon Hillers were to follow us to the classes..lol...funny...we were joking how we should go the wrong way and get them lost..lol.) for the test. As we were dismissing, there was an announcement calling for the janitors to come to some hallways and stuff cause "there is alot of water on the floor." (aka the roof is leaking...again..). We all laughed about that... Mayn..i didnt know ohhs was that bad though..i mean...i know the school is crappy and stuff...but when i talk bad about the school...most of the time im just joking w/ people. But there were lotsa pple who didn't go to our school today, and they were calling our school crappy, ghetto, retarded, run-down and comparing it to shit. i know its sorta bad..ok...real bad and all...but...i found it a little offensive pple just dissing our school like that. Though...the only comment i heard being thrown back at them was "Be glad you don't have to come here every day." I was like...dag...thats cold...

But yeah...the actual test started more than an hour late...c'mon pple...this is Oxon Hill...its unheard of to be on time...an hour late is considered early. But it was ok...i knew more than half the pple in my room, and we talked alot before, after and during the break. It was funny. I also talked a little to these 3 pple in our room who don't go to ohhs. So i had a good time...when i wasn't taking the test. The actual test was....ehhh.....hmmm...i dunno. Part of me was like...i did bad. I didn't leave many blank...maybe 2-4 in each section..and that makes me think i should have omitted some more. And a few math problems i was just like...what the hell is it asking for???
But on the flip side...i think i did better than my first time. Pretty much all the reading passages were understandable, and though i didn't time myself, time wasn't an issue today. And some math problems seemed like no-brainers. So...yeah...i hope i did ok.


After the test, Craig and Choi came over. We finished filming our video!! whoop-whoop!! lol. All we gotta do now is review the outline and edit. I might edit it later 2nite. I think its pretty good...funny parts...lol. Im just glad...all i gotta do is edit and i got one project knocked out...

its friday....not real exciting. Im taking the SATs tomorrow, then i got so many projects to do...this isn't gonna be a fun weekend.

School today was ok. Nothin real interesting. In 8th period, (precal), we only got taught for like...10 minutes, cause then our teacher had to go teach another class where there was a substitute or somethin. why the principal wanted him to do this; i dunno....either way, one class would get taught and the other would have no teacher. So our class was left on our own, so we played spades (the official Oxon Hill game..lol), and a sort of rough pictionary on the board. I feel bad for teachers...they are so underpaid and overworked. The teachers don't get overtime pay for having to teach an extra class....they have to break up fights (and those can be real dangerous...everyone getting punched in the face...its gotten to where most teachers just stand and watch..its not worth the trouble...)..they gotta deal w/ students who don't care, and ones who talk back, etc. Alot of them tutor and things after and before school..they don't get paid for all that. I think teachers should be paid as much as doctors...or at least as much as nurses!! I mean...our school is so cheap...we dont have textbooks for some classes...the copy machines are always broke...we've been forever on a paper shortage...most teachers pay for paper and things w/ money out of their own pockets!! im like...that is real nice... In a school system that sux..its nice knowing that some of the teachers actually care...


NEwayz...not much to say...might study more for the SATs...though Iyen kept telling people not to study and to relax....don't study the night before...and that gils a freakin genius...so i might just take her advice (who wants to study, anywayz?! lol) I just emailed 2 old friends: Jessica, from middle school, and Jenny, in Maine. Both of them are changing their emails, so they had sent around notes w/ their new email addresses...which made me think...hmm...havent talked to them in awhile...maybe i should email them. Im horrible at keeping in touch. I mean...i really, really miss my old friends and all, its just ill either be so busy..or have nothing to say...or something else...and its hard. Though, when high school is all over...ima make a very hard attempt to k.i.t. with most of my friends. I can't imagine what it would be like to just not talk to any of them anymore....so sad...

mayn...so many fights today and i didn't see any of them...

I know there were at least 3...but some pple were like there was about 6...i dunno for sure. Mr. Ware was tellin us about one of them. It was two guys, he was like...they both were swingin good and really fighting. He said that there were about 3 teachers trying to stop the fight, but it kept going cause none of them wanted to get in the middle. He said it got pretty ugly though, and bloody, espeacially since one guy had braces and got hit in the face a few times, so he was bleeding in the face pretty bad. So..yeah. I hear that got started cause a few days ago one of the guys was robbed and apparently the other guy in the fight either knew who robbed him or was the one who robbed him. i dunno for sure, but thats what some pple were saying.

Then, while we were in AP History, right outside the door some girls were screaming and about to start somethin...they were loud...but a security guard came down so they took it upstairs. When we left there though, it was me, Sherrelle and Constance. And we were trying to talk on the way to Physics..but the hall was soooo loud! I mean..the halls are always loud...but this time pple were pushing up the stairs and it was 100 times more crowded than usual...and everyone was shouting and stuff...i bet that crowd was goin to a fight. 7th period was physics, and no sooner had we got seated and stuff, there was a stampede of pple running through the halls from administrators. It was hilarious...so many pple running from a hall sweep.

Our school is sooo messed up. The last 2 weeks of school, the principal makes an announcement that now they are enforcing the ID policy, are doing "unannounced" hall sweeps, and that "Students...do not run from administrators! You are not allowed to run from administrators or security!!" that one deserved a laugh....get real. School is almost over, and NOW they wanna crack down...give me a break...it aint gonna happen. If u dont enforce somethin in the beginning of the year, no one will listen to you later. So they might as well give up on this failed year, and attempt next year....

mayn...today was a bad day....well..it wasn'thorrible...but it was pretty sucky.
First, in geology we got our quizes back...i got a 46%....surprisingly...it was one of the worst (if not the worst) grade in the class...oops....so..yeah...i better work harder on this project...

Then...had a quiz in 8th period...the first 2 of 6 i think i did right...but after that...i blanked out. I got to a step then was like...crap...what do i do next??? another failing precal grade...
And to make precal worse...i just found out ill have O'Neil next year for Calculus!! noo!! i mean...i hear shes a great teacher and real nice...but her class is hard!! i know very good pple with D's in her class...i can't do math! Then, Calculus will be 2 periods next year...i CANT SIT IN A MATH CLASS THAT LONG!! im seriously considering switching to a b.s. math...like probability and statistics...

Then...on top of all that...at the end of the day..i had a little problem w/ some ignorant person. I walked out and was lookin for the bus. The buses are always in 2 rows, and i always walk down the narrow row between them, so i can see all the bus numbers. Well...as im walkin through the buses, this really tall guy i dunno is walking next to me. I don't really notice him...but then, out of the blue, he just looks down at me and is like "I hate white people." im like....what??? So...yeah...i kept walkin and just ignored him...but he kept on walking beside me, and was like...cutting me off and pushing me over into the side of the buses. I just tried to ignore him and kept walking...but then he was just staring at me!! i kept glancing up to see if he was still there, and he was just walkin and staring at me, looking like he wanted me to say something.. so im like..."ok...why the hell are you telling me this?!" and he just keeps lookin at me all mean and stuff... Im like...shit... So i kept walking, then i started goin faster. But, yeah...finally, with all the pple walkin between the buses, he fell behind and wasn't by me anymore. Then i saw some pple from my bus, and discovered that the bus wasn't at that end, so i turned around and followed them to the bus. geez...i was so happy to get to the bus. It wasn't really that i was scared of the guy or anything..but i was really annoyed...stuff like that pisses me off. So..yeah...if u guys were wondering why i wasnt saying anything on the bus..that was why.

NEwayz...i gotta do my geology project...due friday...aaahhh! so i guess ill blog later...oh yeaH! Hope is makin a senior video next year!! to vote on what the cover should look like, click here. (ohhs seniors only, please). :) sounds like a kewl idea!!

Too much work...i can't take this!! WHY??!! We only have 3 more weeks of school....but im so swamped w/ work i don't even think SUMMER CAN EVER COME!! I have 3 projects...big projects...well...one is more a medium sized one...but all are very time consuming and due...uh...before or during next week! I have that 8-12 page MLA style research analysis paper...due on the 12th...i was trying to finish it by this friday...if we get it to her this week, shes giving 10% extra credit...i can use that...but that is looking increasingly impossible. I just don't have the time. And i'd rather turn in a decent paper on time, than a crappy one early just to get extra points. I cant get it done by friday...its impossible.

Then, i have a 5 page geology research report on dinosaurs due wednesday. Well..i asked him when it was due, and he said wednesday...but i musta looked real disappointed, cause then he was like..."well..if you don't get around to it, ill accept it as late as friday." so im like...thank you!!! im just hoping...he means he will accept it for full credit friday...my geology teacher is a bit of a joker...please....i hope he was serious about friday...

Then, added on to that, our final history video is due on the 10th...which is...tuesday..next week. We just started filming today. After school, Craig and Choi came over. We did about 4 scenes....that made me feel better...not too much fooling around but it was fun. And i looked over 3 of them..they seem pretty good. They stayed til about 7pm, but then my battery for the camera went dead, so that pretty much stopped filming for today. We plan on meeting tomorrow to film more. It is really....really scaring me now. We have like...24 or 25 scenes...we got done 4 today...thats like...20 more to go! We'll meet tomorrow, but we can't meet wednesday cause Craig can't come. Thursday..i guess we'll try to meet after school...but Friday Choi has to work...so thats it. Then Saturday, we all are taking the SATs. Choi took off work so we could film later that day, but Craig can't come cause he has to play in a baseball game. But....me, steph and choi will still film...we are trying to get done all the scenes Craig is in by Friday...so then we will just need to find someone to work the camera (oh, Lindsay!!!! lol). But...yeah...and Sunday, Choi works again...so....yup. A last resort thing would be to finish filming Monday after school...the night before its due. But that isn't very desirable...cause i still need to edit it before we turn it in. We were considering skipping school one day this week to film...but its hard finding a day all of us are willing to skip...so...i dunno...i guess we'll figure that out later.

Oh yeah...then i got another english project...a portfolio project...due either the 12th or 16th...but thats in the back of my mind...lemme get some of this other stuff out the way first. Oh...did i mention i still need to find a mentor and an RP project?? dag...im screwed....

Im bored....ok...not really...just putting off that english paper. Lately, i've been in a very excited mood for college....WE'RE SENIORS!!! One more year in that horrible place we call school...then im OUTA THERE!!! I need to start making my "list." So far...i dont have a list...i have one school. I know ima apply to Towson University, right here in Maryland. It has a Mass Communications major w/ a journalism councentration..perfect for me. They also have a really cool sounding Electronic Film and Media major...see....my "dream job" would be to be a producer...make movies and stuff. I love writing scrips, thinking up movie stuff...filming things...thats one reason why i love our history projects...i actually like writing the scripts and filming and acting and everything...problem is we have one week to get our final video together...and we haven't started filming yet. So..yeah...i hope the final product doesn't seem rushed...or at least i hope we finish...

But...yeah...since not many people become movie/t.v. show producers and such...or at least not many can make a living off it...and since i don't have connections (very necessary for the job)...and im not into Hollywood (im strictly an East Coast girl... :) ) that is exactly that...a "dream." In reality, (alwayz gotta come back to reality...) i want to try to be a journalist or reporter. I think it would be so cool to work on a newspaper...interview people...write articles...track down stories...put it all together...all that good stuff. I like to write and thats pretty much all im good at...math sux....science sux...engineering sux....tried it all...lol. So...yeah..where was i??

So on my "list" ive got Towson University. I've been all over their web site, i get mail from them, i picked up there brochure at a college fair, i went on a campus tour...heck..i even signed up so i get their school newspaper sent to me online! lol. Towson sounds cool. Not only does it have my major, the campus is a nice size...walkable...but not to small. The buildings i went in and saw were nice. The average class size is 27. All classes are taught by professors, not TAs. Teahcers are very accessible from what i hear, and trust me...thats something i need...lol. Then, they have a t.v. station, newspaper, literary magazines, and 2 radio stations...great for me, since i plan on working on the newspaper...heck...maybe even t.v.! Then, the location is great...theres a 4 level mall like..2 minutes from campus....and then Baltimore's Inner Harbor (the "good" part of Baltimore...w/ all the tourist stuff) is only like a 15 minute drive from campus. Between buses, train and metro, D.C and all those other east coast cities are accessible. And a boost for me: in state tuition. lol.

But...even though Towsons cool...i need to look at other schools. University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill i was hooked on forever...but that might be a bit harder to get in to...and once im in it might be harder to get a scholarship...and it all boils down to the money. Marist College also seemed cool..and i hear they have a great mass communications program (journalism included)...but tuition/room/board will be almost $30,000...that is...very steep. Heck...my dad was freaking out at College Parks what....$10,000 for in state students (room/board/tuition). See....my parents havent been saving up at all...and im broke...and they're broke...so yeah...Who wants to give me a full scholarship? lol.

Then...recently ive been looking at the University of Delaware. It looks nice. And i calculated the tuition/room/board/fees cost. I think it came to about...$23,000. Again...i need a scholarship...but...thats not too bad for out of state... But that place is cool. It has about as many students as Towson...in the 15,000-16,000 range. But the campus is alot bigger...1000 acres. Thats a bit big to me, but its still about 500 acres less than College Park. Like I always do...i went all over the website...and the place looks so cool! It has ice skating rinks, a pool, all this other cool stuff! And in the pictures it looks nice. Though, it doesn't have a journalism, mass communications or even a communications major. But, if i went there, id be in the English major, and that has a concentration in journalism (which i would take.) And that would be cool, espeacially since journalims students are required to work on the student newspaper along w/ their course work...which is cool w/ me! So...yeah...UD will work for me!!

Mayn i cant wait til college. One more year of high school....i still can't believe im a SENIOR!!! aaahhh!!

I am SOOO sick of work!! Im FINALLY 1/3 of the way done my english paper...i am SICK of TYPING!!! i just wanna chill a bit. And tomorrow...mayn...this coming week is gonna suck!! We have to work on our video....we have one week to film...we haven't started yet...im like....we NEVER waited this long before...and this is our longest video too! 24 scenes!! geez.. then...i gotta finish this english paper...ima try to get it done by friday, cause then ill get 10% extra credit on it...thats a letter grade....that is really, really good. Otherwise, its due on the 12th. Then, i got a geology report friday...gotta go to the computer lab tomorrw to do research for it. Someone said it is due tuesday...but that can't be....its way too soon!! Added on to those 3 projects, im taking the SATs again on Saturday..wish me luck...i BADLY need to study. Ima screw the math part and focus on studying the vocabulary for the english....my score last time was a 1020....a 560 on each the math and verbal. I know i can do better on the verbal...the math...ehh....screw it...
Then next monday i get my cavity drilled....darnit....SUCKS TO BE ME!!!!!!!!
