ok....wow....Sunday already! lol. i got lotsa stuff to talk about (for once...) Apparently, this weekend was ACTUALLY BuSy!!!
First off, must update the story w/ the girl that got hit by the car at school. (note: i will not use people's specific names). First, off, my english teacher informed my class that the girl is expected to make a full recovery in time. Though, she did have some serious injury's: a dislocated hip....3rd degree burns on her back....some other stuff. i was like..wow. And they did a C-section and took out the baby, who is doing okay. Its a little girl. The baby is about a month and a half early. But i was glad to hear they both are doing okay.
Okay...the following i heard from a number of students, so i cant be 100% sure its correct, but all of this i've heard from several people, so i think it might be accurate: I found out who the driver that hit her was. Again, im not putting the name or details up, but ill just say it was a 17 yr. old guy. From what i hear, he was driving (way to fast, i must add) in front of the school and turned and waved to a friend, and thats when he hit the girl. Then, i heard that he didnt know what happened, then he BACKED UP and ran over her while he was trying to see what he hit!! im like...how dumb can u be??? U dont BACK UP once u hit something! u just stay there! sheesh! Even dumber, i heard that when he realized what he did, he got out the car and ran. smart...real smart. First off, lotsa pple know him and can point him out....secondly he left his car....lisence plate number, anyone?? geez... ok. well thats the update.
Next to talk about: what else i did Friday. There was a game bell and got out of 7th and 8th periods. I went to the volleyball game and sa w/ like...6 of my friends. It was cool. We were winning, but had to catch the bus home b4 it ended...we had to have won tho. Lotsa my friends were playing...i was like...yeah! lol. And it was in our nice new gym. Every1 was acting stupid....we were all cheering and making noise and doing the wave...haha.
But then...like 10 minutes before we left, a fight broke out at the top of the stands. Everyone on the other sde of the gym comes running across the court and up on our bleachers to see, and soon everyone is over on top the bleachers. They had to stop the game and everything. i was like...dammit!! We'll never have another game bell again!! Stupid people!!
Friday night i went ice skating in Mount Vernon w/ like 10 pple from school (mostly juniors). It was cool. There were 2 bands playing (i dunno who they were...little rock bands...im not real up on that kind of thing..). Lotsa white punk rock kids. i sooo didnt fit in. lol. But it was great...its been nearly 2 years since ive skated...i love skating! We were there til about 11pm.
Then on Saturday, i had to wake up insanely early and my dad took me, my sister, one of his friends, and his daughter Jenna to the open house at Frostburg State University. It lasted til about 3pm, then we went and stayed at one of my dad's friend's relatives vacation houses overnight. I just got back from there about 2 hours ago. omg! Frostburg was so cool! At first, i was like...its too rural!! Theres nothing here! But..i dunno. i mean...it is rural...but its more woodsy rural...not farmland and cattle rural. And while i like cities..it was just such a nice little place. The college was great. First off: its the cheapest ive seen yet. Also, their Mass Communications program sounds really nice. The campus itself is real pretty and nice. I talked to several students...all of whom really love it there, and everyone was very friendly. There seems like enough stuff to do on campus also. The only downside i can find is that ithe town lacks...big stores and stuff. Theres a mall somewhere...but it is literally "the" mall. And theres a Walmart. Theres a Dominos, Chi-Chis, McDonalds and a few other chain food places...but other than that...theres nothing. Main Street is within walking distance of campus, but like i said, there aren't really any name-brand stores and places. Though it seemed nice. Lotsa little mom 'n pop stores/restaurants....little independent shops and cafes and bookstores....a little movie theater...other stuff. At firsti was blown about this lack of civilization, but i thought it was cool. I'd get to try out new things. And lotsa the students were like though they arent big and well known places, they are real nice and often cheaper than the big stores. So there are some places to go. Another thing is how much outdoor stuff there is to do. I mean...what would i do if i went to school in a big city?? shop at the stores and mall? (with what money?? ima be broke!!) Go to the movies? (that gets old...plus this place does hava a little theater). Go to a museum or somethin? (riite...) When u think about it...that Main Street had plenty to do. And theres so much more exciting stuff. I mean...i could try out skiing and snowboarding...rock climbing...white water rafting. I can hike or canoe...ive done those things before..thats fun. So theres lotsa things to do there that i probably couldn't try in other places. Another bonus: the campus has bus service on campus and to places off campus. Also, everyone (including frshman) can have cars on campus, and parking is free if u live on campus. So if u cant walk somewhere...drive!
Im not sure where i wanna go anymore...AAAHHH! And i really need to get my list together...most of my applications must be in by Dec. 1. But Frostburg...now that i think about it...seemed really cool.
